- Location is the baseline; the value is in alerts you get without opening the app.
- Look for warnings about unusual movement and weather risks that parents easily miss.
- If the child does not accept how it works, it will not stay installed.
1. Safe zones and caution zones
Places you consider safe, such as school, belong in a safe zone; places you want to hear about if your child goes there belong in a caution zone. A road with building works, or somewhere you would rather they did not go alone late in the day, fits the second category.
DOKOPANG allows 20 of each, and shows your child's current state as inside a safe zone, outside it, or in a caution zone. Each place has its own radius (50 m, 100 m, 200 m), entry and exit alerts, and weekdays. Home needs no entry — the return-home alert is worked out automatically.
2. Detecting unusual movement
What parents really want to know is when something differs from the usual. DOKOPANG learns your child's everyday movement and raises risk prediction alerts for situations like these.
- Travel late at night, or at an unusual hour
- A place visited for the first time, or a destination they do not normally go to
- Long journeys, or a change in the mode of travel
- Moving away from home, or a delayed return
- A predicted destination that changes suddenly
3. Weather and environment warnings
On days of extreme heat, extreme cold or poor air quality, the journey itself becomes a health risk. DOKOPANG shows the weather at the place your child is predicted to arrive, and when it detects heat, cold or air pollution it sends practical advice — drink water, wear gloves — along with the warning.
DOKOPANG learns your child's movement patterns and tells you first when something is different.
4. A daily summary
Nobody can watch an app all day. Something that gathers the important parts for you reduces the checking enormously.
- Morning briefing — your child's status summarised at a time you choose between 4 and 9 am (8 am by default)
- Today's notes — including informational items that were never sent as notifications
- Pattern analysis — daily, weekly and monthly views by type, hour, weekday and place
- Activity history — steps, places visited, distance by mode of travel, and an AI summary of the day
5. A design your child can accept
A kids safety app only works if the child agrees to keep it on. Look for these.
- Consent on both sides — location is shared only after the child accepts
- The ability to pause sharing without disconnecting
- A location view history showing who looked, and when
- Extra features such as app usage checks requiring consent from both guardian and child (DOKOPANG's app usage management covers ages 16 and under)
What an app cannot replace
An app supports a parent's attention; it does not replace conversations or safety habits. AI predictions are reference information, so call when you are worried, and in an emergency contact the local emergency number without hesitation. Agreeing simple rules with your child — message us if you will be late, do not go off with people you do not know — makes the alerts far more meaningful.
Frequently asked questions
Are risk prediction alerts on by default?
They are off by default. Select your child on the main screen and turn on risk prediction alerts in their profile settings. Place entry and exit, low battery and the morning briefing are on from the moment you connect.
Will I get too many notifications?
DOKOPANG sorts situations into urgent, caution and informational, and sends push notifications only for urgent and caution. Informational items stay in "Today's notes" inside the app, and each alert type can be switched on or off per family member.
What is the difference between urgent, caution and informational?
Urgent means it needs checking now, caution means something differs from the usual pattern and is worth a look, and informational is useful background.
